SAP Calculations in Birmingham
SAP calculations for Birmingham developments
Our experienced assessors are fully accredited and well versed in performing SAP calculations in the Birmingham area.
We’ll help get you the results you need as efficiently as possible, whether it’s for a new build, conversion or extension.
What are SAP Calculations?
SAP Calculations need to be passed for a building to enter the market – as stipulated in Part L of the Building Regulations. They need to be conducted on all new residential developments, extensions and conversions – L1A SAP calculations are performed for new build developments, while the L1B SAP calculations are carried out for extensions and conversions.
We take many factors into account when performing the assessment, and then issue a score on a scale between 1 and 100. The lower the score, the higher the energy running cost for the dwelling tested.
SAP Calculations in Birmingham
Due to the extreme tightening of CO2 emissions targets, SAP tests are much, much harder to pass than they used to be. Your average new build from 5 or 6 years ago is unlikely to pass today’s regulations.
However, we’re here to help. We’ve been performing SAP calculations in Birmingham for a long time and we’re always up to date with the latest regulation changes. The best way you can make sure of achieving the score you need is to involve us early in the process.
All of our assessors have at least 3 years of experience, and they will do all they can to help you through the process as efficiently and painlessly as possible.
How long do they take
This depends both on the type of build in question and the timeline of your project, but we usually complete SAP Calculations within a 48-hour period from receiving the order. Following the assessment, we will issue you your report. For this, we work within standard UKBC times and issue reports within 5-10 working days.
